Plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans were left unimpressed with Christian Eriksen’s cameo appearance against Manchester United on Wednesday.
Spurs lost the game 2-1 at Old Trafford and the Dane started the game on the bench before being thrown on by Jose Mourinho in the 63rd minute (WhoScored).
However, he failed to make much of an impact in the game. Indeed, none of his three attempted crosses were accurate, he made no successful dribbles and finished with a meagre 6.11 WhoScored rating.
In truth, Eriksen has not been at his best all season, as shown by his statistics. He has managed to score just one goal and has provided just one assist in his 12 Premier League appearances this term (Transfermarkt).
He has made it known that he wishes to leave the club (The Guardian) and with his contract expiring at the end of the season, that could explain why he hasn’t been at the races this campaign.
After watching him fail to perform once again at Old Trafford, many Spurs fans were very critical of Eriksen after the game on social media whilst some suggested he shouldn’t be involved again due to his desire to leave.

He shouldn’t be given any time. His form is so bad regardless of anything else. Surely better to give GLC time to at least see if he has got it. If a manager only gave me 5 minutes every now and then I’ll tell him to do one and just stay at home.
