Christian Eriksen has told Tottenham Hotspur that he wishes to leave in January, with Inter Milan reportedly in pole position to sign the Danish international according to a report from The Athletic, via @DailyHotspur.
He is out of contract in the summer (Transfermarkt) and made it known a few weeks ago that he doesn’t intend to agree fresh terms at the club (The Telegraph).
So Spurs must decide whether to let him go for a fee in January, or force him to see his contract out and go for free at the end of the campaign.
And it seems that they will take the option of selling him and they are probably keen for him to go to Inter as it would ensure that he doesn’t move to a Premier League rival – Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the Dane (The Telegraph).
Plenty of Spurs fans would be happy to see Eriksen move to the Serie A giants next month, with many taking to Twitter to suggest that it would suit all parties.
Here is what some had to say…
Bit of a strange one but hopefully this is done quickly

Would be a great move for him the slower pace in Italy and a great young dynamic midfield to protect him also, has been excellent for spurs coming from the Dutch league

Great player but time to cash in
