Tottenham Hotspur could be set to try and sign Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos from Scottish giants Rangers, that is according to a report from Football Insider.
Spurs are currently on the hunt for a new striker before the transfer deadline, with Harry Kane set to be missing until April at the earliest after rupturing a tendon in his left hamstring against Southampton on New Year’s Day (tottenhamhotspur.com).
And according to the report, it could be that they turn to Morelos to fill the void left by the England captain. He is certainly a player who knows where the back of the net is, having scored a whopping 28 goals in just 35 appearances in all competitions this term (Transfermarkt).
It has previously been reported that Rangers have no intention of selling the 23-year-old this month (Football Insider), so it is likely to take a big offer from Daniel Levy for them to consider allowing the Colombia international to move to north London.
However, it seems that several Spurs fans aren’t too keen on the idea of signing Morelos, with some pointing to his poor disciplinary record as a reason not to bring him in – he has been sent off seven times for Rangers since arriving in 2017 (Transfermarkt).
