Tottenham Hotspur sent former striker Fernando Llorente a birthday message on Wednesday as the Spaniard turned 35 (@SpursOfficial).
The 6’4″ frontman played for Spurs between 2017 and 2019 after joining from Swansea City for a reported £12.1m fee (Sky Sports). In his time at the club, he made 66 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and racking up six assists (Transfermarkt).
He certainly provided the north London club with some memorable moments, most notably when he scored a crucial goal in their Champions League quarter-final tie against Manchester City last season which sent them into the last four (BT Sport).

Despite that contribution he was released by Tottenham last summer and he went on to join Serie A outfit Napoli, where he has scored four times this term (Transfermarkt).
He was actually linked with a return to Spurs in January after it was confirmed that Harry Kane would be out for a while with an injury (La Gazzetta dello Sport), but a move never materialised. However, it seems that plenty of their supporters wish they had re-signed the Spaniard, whilst others believe they should never have let him go in the first place.
Here is what some had to say…
We should have at least gotten him back in January.
