Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to try and sign RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano, that is according to French news outlet Le Parisien, via Ricky Sacks.
It is reported that the Bundesliga outfit will allow the defender to leave the club next month, if they can secure a deal to sign 17-year-old Tanguy Kouassi from Paris Saint Germain.

Jose Mourinho is thought to be a huge admirer of Upamecano, who has been a regular for Leipzig of late having started in each of their last 13 league matches (Transfermarkt).
At just 21-years-old, the Frenchman has plenty of potential and could well be brought in as a replacement for Jan Vertonghen, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the current season (Transfermarkt).
It seems that signing Upamecano would certainly make the Spurs fans happy, with many of them taking to Twitter to admit that they would love to see the defender in north London.
Here is what some had to say…
YES!! This is who we need next week, add in Ruben Dias too (in the summer) and a RB in jan too and we mig actually sort out defence again…😳🙄
