Some Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that Fernando Llorente has been offered a new one-year deal at the club after his contract expired at the end of last season (Daily Mail).
The Spaniard scored just one goal in 20 Premier League appearances last term, although he only started in six of those games.
And he also played a major part in the Lilywhites’ incredible Champions League run as he scored the pivotal goal in their quarter-final tie with Manchester City and then he was involved in the build-up to Lucas Moura’s strike which took them through to the final.
Yet despite the 34-year-old’s important contribution to Tottenham’s historic run to Madrid, there are still some fans who are not sold on the idea of him being a suitable back-up to Harry Kane.
However, others believe the club will struggle to attract a top quality forward given Kane has proven himself as the man to lead the line for five seasons now having netted over 20 goals for five consecutive seasons.
Here is some of the reaction to the news:

He offers absolutely nothing! Seems this is a desperate and cheap option very typical of levy and enic and a move that seems to signal we aren’t buying any forward players so Kane will get flogged again this season and no doubt get hurt once more! #THFC

I would rather Spurs sign @petercrouch than give Llorente another year. At least Crouchy knows where the goal is!

We won’t get a striker while Kane is at the club . The whole world knows he won’t get dropped even when half fit so good getting Llorente back in as he does a job and don’t complain.
