Ricky Sacks relayed information by Football.London‘s Alasdair Gold on Twitter, who suggested Spurs would be keeping an eye on both men as either one of them could be on their radar in January.
The journalist did reveal he felt that a deal for Fernandes would be the easier of the two to complete, as the Portugal international was understood to have agreed to terms regarding a switch to north London.
Indeed, the Sporting Lisbon man has been in sensational form for club and country recently, as he has managed to net six goals and provide five assists in his 16 matches across all competitions (per WhoScored).
Tottenham saw a deal collapse for Dybala in the summer on deadline day (Goal), although the Argentine has recently revealed he did not want to leave Juventus in the first place (per Corriere della Sera via FourFourTwo).
However, things may change in January as the Argentine is not getting much action under Maurizio Sarri – the £67.5m-rated (per TransferMarkt) South American has featured just seven times across all competitions with one goal and three assists to show for his 344 minutes of action.
Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to share their initial thoughts regarding the attacking midfield duo, with many appearing to prefer Fernandes to Dybala.
Here are just some of their reactions…
We need Bruno more, save rest of money for defensive players

Dybala outright said he was linked to clubs in the summer he didn’t want to go to. Given the state of our club it would be a miracle if he joins. Fernandes would be a great and more realistic signing.

On current form, would take Fernandes over Dybala but they’re both potential game changers.
