Tottenham Hotspur: Fans send Dele Alli messages of support after robbery

Tottenham superstar Dele Alli was held at knifepoint during a burglary on Wednesday and the Lilywhites have been tweeting messages of support.

According to BBC Sport, two men broke into Alli’s house in the early hours of the morning, and the England international was threatened with a knife and punched repeatedly in the face, suffering minor injuries as a result.

The 24-year-old has been spending time at home with his family after Spurs players were told to stay away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Enfield Training Centre due to the ongoing pandemic.

A number of possessions were stolen, including expensive watches, and CCTV footage has been handed to the police.

This comes in the wake of Jan Vertonghen’s family being robbed in March.

Ever since he moved to White Hart Lane from MK Dons for £5.97m back in 2015, the midfielder has emerged as one of England’s brightest stars, scoring 62 goals in 219 appearances for the North London club so far. He is currently valued at £57.6m via Transfermarkt.

Understandably, lots of Spurs fans were shocked by the “horrible” news, with one supporter replying to Alli’s tweet saying it is an “awful thing for you to have to go through.”
