Tottenham Hotspur suffered their first defeat of the Jose Mourinho era on Wednesday, losing 2-1 against Manchester United at Old Trafford (BBC Sport).
A brace from Marcus Rashford was enough to seal all three points for the Red Devils, with Dele Alli finding the back of the net for Spurs.
Quite a few Tottenham players were out of sorts on the night, but one who came in for specific criticism on social media was centre-back Davinson Sanchez.
The Colombian was at fault for Rashford’s first goal, allowing the England international to out muscle him before firing past Paulo Gazzaniga (BBC Sport).
He also attempted 12 long balls but only four were accurate. Added to that, he had one unsuccessful touch in the match, too (via WhoScored).
Fans were far from happy with the 23-year-old’s display at Old Trafford, with several questioning whether he is good enough to be in the Tottenham team.
Here is what some had to say on Twitter…
Starting think Sanchez may not be good enough
On reflection it was just a poor performance
But I really worry about harry kane 7PL goals in 14 games is poor— SpursSignYoucefAtal (@SpursTransfer10) December 5, 2019
Sanchez had slightly improved the last couple of games, but reverted to type last night. Woeful
