Monaco could challenge Tottenham Hotspur for Luis Campos if he leaves Lille in the summer, according to Foot Mercato via @RickSpur.
Earlier this week reports claimed Campos has asked to leave the Stade Pierre-Mauroy as he is unhappy with the way the club have handled the decision-making process.
Although the Mastiffs are yet to confirm his departure, he is expected to find a new home in the coming months.
The Guardian reported the Lilywhites were lining up an offer for Campos in December, and while a move didn’t materialise, the Portuguese is close with his compatriot Jose Mourinho.

However, the French outlet has revealed his former club Monaco could usurp Spurs’ interest in the 55-year-old and bring him back to the Stade Louis II. Indeed, he spent three years with the Red and Whites, before helping to propel Lille into the Champions League (Bleacher Report).
Football reporter Ricky Sacks shared the news on Twitter, writing: “Monaco could now challenge Tottenham Hotspur for the services of Luis Campos as he attempts to leave OSC Lille. Campos had asked to leave OSC Lille. The Portuguese talent spotter spoke to president Gerard Lopez, informing him of his intention to go.”
Understandably, many Spurs fans slammed Monaco’s link to the “best in the business”, with one fan calling the update “stupid,” and another adding “Monaco are finished.”
