Tottenham Hotspur fans were feeling unsure after Jose Mourinho made some claims about winning trophies with the club.
In his pre-match press conference ahead of last night’s clash with Red Bull Leipzig, the Portuguese coach claimed that Spurs will win a trophy during his time with the side. The comments may come as a surprise to the Lilywhites faithful, who haven’t seen the outfit lift a piece of silverware since their triumph over Chelsea in the 2008 League Cup final.
During Mourinho’s time in management, he has won a plethora of trophies in four different countries with six different clubs prior to his appointment in north London, however, more importantly, the coach never failed to win a major honour whilst managing any of his former sides (via Transfermarkt). His target could prove difficult to achieve as the outfit is in the process of paying off their stadium debt, making potential purchases of players tricky (via The Guardian).
