According to an update courtesy of Sky Sports, Tottenham and Genoa have held negotiations over the sale of left-back Danny Rose to the Serie A club, but they believe it will be a ‘difficult‘ deal to pull off judging by league rivals Cagliari, who pulled out of the running recently.
Rose, who has amassed an impressive 29 caps for England at international level, doesn’t appear to be part of Jose Mourinho’s grand plans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – and the club are ‘open’ to letting him leave.

Recently, emerged footage from ‘All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur‘ showcased a confrontation between Mourinho and Rose, where the 30-year-old defender voiced his frustration over lack of opportunity.
As a result, he was shipped out on loan to Newcastle for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season, but the Magpies opted not to make his move a permanent one.
Now, Spurs and chairman Daniel Levy could be waiting on prospective buyers who can take Rose off their hands for a reasonable fee, and Genoa now appear firmly in the hunt according to Sky Sports.
Tottenham will be keen to offload the player as soon as possible, especially considering he has entered the last year of his contract, but where did it go wrong for him in north London?
