Tottenham Hotspur: Harry Kane’s tweet has loads of fans talking

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has called a former England player living in isolation, after carers were stunned to discover Colin Grainger played for Leeds United, Sheffield United and Sunderland.

Kane video-called the widower during the nationwide lockdown, and the duo went on to talk about Grainger’s heroics for the Three Lions, including his goals against Brazil in 1956, and his time sharing the stage with the Beatles (BBC).

The pair both scored on their international debuts, as the 26-year-old famously scored in the 4-0 drubbing of Lithuania all the way back in 2015.

After the FA found out about the 86-year-old’s situation, they got in touch with the Spurs talisman, who readily agreed to catch up with his countryman over the phone.

It seems Kane’s tweet has put a smile on a lot of faces after loads of Lilywhites gushed over the footage on social media. One fan dubbed the clip as “brilliant stuff.”
