Speaking to DAZN, via Sport Witness, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has opened up over his biggest regret whilst playing in north London – going on to lament his lavish lifestyle and how he tried to buy happiness when playing under both Martin Jol and Harry Redknapp.
Boateng, who later secured a move to Portsmouth after just 24 appearances at White Hart Lane, has now opened up in an interview with DAZN detailing his time at Tottenham.

Boateng on Spurs stay
The Ghanaian, who has previously admitted to living like an ‘idiot’ whilst playing for Spurs, lifted the lid on how he bought three luxury cars in a single day with his footballing wages.
Looking back, the 33-year-old holds regret over the lifestyle he lived at Tottenham and insists he ‘wouldn’t do it again’.
“I’m not proud of this story. In reality, there is a story behind it,” Boateng told DAZN.
“I tried to buy my happiness, at that moment I wasn’t happy because I wasn’t playing since the coach didn’t consider me. Going back, I wouldn’t do it again. Without being arrogant I could have had a better career.”

Recognised by some as one of the most underwhelming signings made by Daniel Levy over the last decade and a half, Boateng had bags of potential but couldn’t quite reach it in the Premier League.
After leaving Portsmouth, the midfielder found himself playing in five different countries and is currently plying his trade for Monza in Serie B.
Whether or not he could have become a hero for Spurs is up for debate, but his lifestyle may not have helped.
