Writing for football.london, reliable journalist Alasdair Gold has shared that Spurs players were ‘applauding‘ defender Davinson Sanchez in training ahead of Tottenham’s Europa League tie against LASK this evening.
Sanchez, who suffered through a nervy performance against West Ham, scoring an own goal whilst being part of the 3-3 capitulation, has now spoken to the press over his potential redemption in the Europa League tonight.
Should Davinson Sanchez be a first name on the Spurs team sheet?
Relaying the candid media conference, correspondent Gold has claimed that Tottenham players were applauding him in training the other day – with the Colombian reacting to it.
Here’s every word Davinson Sanchez said this afternoon on Sunday’s mistakes, the Spurs players applauding him the other day in training, getting better as a player, missing Jan Vertonghen, his chat with Jose Mourinho and more. https://t.co/ZWCVOqI4aL

The 24-year-old has been consistently picked by manager Jose Mourinho going into this tie, especially with Eric Dier and Japhet Tanganga missing due to injury, with Toby Alderweireld looking likely to start alongside him against LASK.
Tottenham Hotspur defensive signing Joe Rodon cannot participate in the Europa League due to not being registered in time, leaving Mourinho with few options at centre-back.
Particularly against the Hammers, Sanchez did not cover himself in glory with the unlucky own goal which gave David Moyes’ men a glimmer of hope – but the defender’s aim is to turn it around starting with Spurs’ first Europa League group stage game.
Tottenham have been tipped for silverware this campaign, but if they’re to go on and achieve glory, Mourinho’s men will need to be resolute at the back.
