Speaking to Football Insider, pundit Paul Robinson, as seen regularly on Sky Sports, has made a claim following what he's 'heard' from star striker Harry Kane.

The Lowdown: Kane in summer transfer saga...

Before the arrival of manager Antonio Conte and Spurs' uptick in Premier League form, the Lilywhites forward was at the centre of summer reports linking him with a move to Man City.

Pep Guardiola's side were extremely interested in the England international, even lodging transfer bids, but chairman Daniel Levy wouldn't budge when it came to Spurs' prised asset.

Kane apparently thought he had a gentlemen's agreement with the Tottenham chief but couldn't work his desired move to Eastlands.

Fast forward to now, after a slow start to the season under ex-boss Nuno Espirito Santo, the 28-year-old has re-discovered his quality with Robinson saying Spurs fans should be encouraged by one thing he's 'heard'.

The Latest: Robinson sends message...

Speaking to FI, the former Lilywhites shot stopper suggests Tottenham fans could be uplifted by Kane's post-match comments after Brighton recently.

"He looked like he was very close to his best again. I still don’t think he’s 100 per cent yet but he looks fit and hungry," Robinson said.

“I like what I heard from him after the game. His relationship with Conte sounds great. He’s clearly impressed by the manager on and off the field. I just thought his comments after the game were very encouraging for Spurs fans.

“Something was wrong under Nuno, not just for Kane but for others as well. The camp was not a harmonious one. I think some of the players saw the appointment as a lack of ambition from the club.”

The Verdict: Agreed...

Kane heaped praise on Spurs' head coach for changing the mindset of Tottenham behind-the-scenes (ITV via Manchester Evening News), and it's safe to say this comment from the Englishman indicates he is settled in north London right now.

This only comes as a boost for both Conte and Tottenham fans, especially if Kane can recapture that imperious 2020/2021 form, as he bagged 23 Premier League goals last season and clinched the Golden Boot.
