Speaking to GiveMeSport, The Daily Star journalist Paul Brown has shared his thoughts on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

The Lowdown: Ndombele drama...

Over the summer, news emerged of Spurs' record signing informing the club of his wishes to leave north London (The Telegraph).

After a move away failed to materialise, Ndombele has found himself trying to recapture his brilliant form which motivated Tottenham to splash out £53.8m in 2019.

He has shown flashes of what he can do since arriving in the Premier League, but there have always been question marks surrounding his application and match fitness.

The Latest: Brown shreds Ndombele...

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Brown has slammed the Frenchman for being a 'total liability' off the ball whilst also questioning what he even brings to the team sometimes.

The journalist stated: "Ndombele at least gives you some threat but when you don't have the ball he is a total liability, you can't trust him.

"And when you're playing against a team who are clearly firing and well on top, as Arsenal were, they were almost playing with a man down. I honestly don't see what Ndombele gives to that team sometimes."

The Verdict: Give him time?

It has been over two years since the 24-year-old arrived from Lyon, prompting some debate as to whether he should be afforded more time or if Spurs should just cut their losses.

Lauded as 'almost unplayable' at times and 'tremendously talented' by Sky reporter Lyall Thomas (Last Word on Spurs, via This is Futbol), no Spurs player completed more dribbles per match in the Premier League last season than Ndombele (WhoScored).

His ability is clearly there for all to see, so if Nuno can somehow nurture that form back again on a consistent enough basis, the 24-year-old could go on to become a real asset for Tottenham. He can't afford too many more insipid performances, though.
