Tuttosport (via Sport Witness) stated on Wednesday that Spurs are interested in appointing Inzaghi but Premier League rivals Leicester City are also taking note of his exploits in Rome.

The Latest: Inzaghi open to joining Spurs

The 45-year-old, as per this fresh update from Corriere dello Sport, is now open to joining Tottenham as the Lilywhites ‘come out’ in pursuit of Inzaghi as a possible heir to Jose Mourinho.

Corriere appear adamant that Tottenham do have a legitimate interest in Inzaghi, stating it is ‘real’ even though this has yet to evolve into a more formal offer or discussions.

This report also claims he ‘wouldn’t say no’ to Spurs due to an ongoing contract dispute at current club Lazio.

The former Italy international is said to be ‘perplexed’ with no new deal on the table despite his contract running out at the end of the season.

The Verdict: Big boost for Spurs…

Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy has been aware of Inzaghi for some time.

Italian agent Vincenzo Morabito, lifting the lid on his attempt to hire him before appointing Mourinho, explained just how eager Levy was to bring Inzaghi to north London.

“He is a coach destined for a great career and is very attached to the Biancoceleste environment,” he shared to Radio Sportiva (via Area Napoli).

“Two years ago he refused an offer from Napoli because he wanted to stay at Lazio, there was also a half-talk with Juventus and then there was a desperate attempt by Tottenham before taking on Mourinho.”

In this Corriere dello Sport development, Inzaghi now being open to a Spurs move could possibly mean a big boost as Levy reportedly reignites interest in his former target.
