Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson has urged Spurs to plot a possible return for Gareth Bale by making the reportedly wantaway Christian Eriksen part of the deal.

Eriksen has long been linked with a move away and had reportedly set his sights on a move to Real Madrid which never materialised in the summer.
Meanwhile, former Spurs winger Bale also faces an uncertain future in Spain having been close to a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu himself before the start of the season.
Speaking to Football Insider, Robinson feels a part-exchange deal would be one that suits all parties and pleases the Tottenham faithful.
He said: “I think they should try to get him if they can.
“I think if Eriksen is going to go to Real Madrid, I think that would be the perfect deal for Tottenham and Tottenham supporters.
“He’ll be the perfect fit for Mourinho, he’d give the whole place a lift, rather than have Eriksen who clearly doesn’t want to be there.
“He’s sulking and he’s not happy, it looks like he is going to want to leave.
“To get someone of Bale’s quality in as part of a deal, if that’s possible, then it’ll be great.”
Based on the bones of the potential deal, the principle of Bale returning to north London while offloading Eriksen would be something that kills two birds with one stone.
However, in theory, replacing an attacking midfielder with a winger would leave holes in the Tottenham squad.
That said, the opportunity of such a deal does not strike you as one that may come around too often, so there is every chance that Mourinho may feel the pros outweigh the cons.
And with the alternative of receiving nothing from Eriksen’s departure in the coming months if his contract runs down, getting a player as part of the bargain would at least allow Spurs to potentially profit from the situation.
Securing the return of Bale could well be the icing on the cake.
