Real Madrid news website Defensa Central have issued an update on a potential January move to Tottenham Hotspur for Los Blancos centre-back Eder Militao.
This comes after it’s was claimed that Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing the Brazilian to the north London club this month.
Zidane’s view could hand Tottenham Hotspur a boost
Now, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane’s view on this potential move to Tottenham for the £27m-rated man has become apparent.
According to Defensa Central, the three-time UEFA Champions League-winning manager is open to the idea of allowing the 22-year-old to leave Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and join Spurs on loan, and that Real could let him leave, provided the Lilywhites pay the player’s wages.
This report from Defensa Central also claims that Mourinho wants to bring the centre-back in on loan, as opposed to on a permanent deal, indicating that this update on Zidane’s stance could mean this is a deal that would suit all parties.
Militao’s struggles this season
Zidane would apparently be happy to temporarily part ways with Militao as the Brazilian ‘has completely disappeared’ from the Frenchman’s plans.
This comes after the former Porto man, who is a set-piece threat and is said to be strong in several areas of the game, including passing, dribbling and tackling, per WhoScored, has made just two La Liga appearances and one UEFA Champions League appearance for Los Blancos this term.
Will Spurs sign Militao on loan this month?
YES
NO
So, with Militao enduring a difficult 2020/21 campaign, it will be interesting to see whether or not Spurs and Mourinho decide to make a move to capture him on loan this this month and perhaps help him to revive his career at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In other news, a big contract update on Hugo Lloris has emerged.
