With Roberto Soldado already departing the club this transfer window, and Emmanuel Adebayor looking likely to follow suit, there’s a fair few Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern who want to see a new striker at White Hart Lane.
And today, The Independent seem to be putting a few smiles on Spurs’ fans faces with the news that the North London club have stepped up their efforts in a bid to sign Saido Berahino from West Brom.
Seen as an ideal player to compliment and support star forward Harry Kane, Daniel Levy has reportedly offered West Brom £20 million in order to link up the two England U-21 teammates.
Whilst Clinton N’Jie has already arrived in London, tranfering from Lyon, he is predominantly a wide player and Spurs will surely be keen to add another out and out striker. A bonus with Saido Berahino is that he has a proven season in the Premier League under his belt – this will surely be a motivation to secure the deal!
