Tottenham are keen on Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi. Senesi has been a standout performer since joining the Cherries from Feyenoord in 2022.
The Argentina international has made 65 Premier League appearances for Bournemouth, scoring 6 goals. He is the only remaining member of the Bournemouth backline that largely impressed last season, helping the Cherries finish in a commendable ninth place.
His centre half partner Dean Huijsen joined Real Madrid over the summer, while left back Milos Kerkez joined Liverpool, and on loan Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga joined Arsenal. Julian Araujo saw the majority of minutes at right back for Bournemouth last season, but he has since lost his place to summer signing Alex Jimenez.
That leaves Senesi as the only mainstay in a new look backline for Andoni Iraola’s men, and has continued to draw admirers. The 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is expected to leave the Vitality Stadium.
Football Insider has reported that Tottenham are amongst the clubs leading the race for his signature, but are behind favourites Barcelona. Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Everton are also keen on Senesi.
Spurs chasing Senesi

Spurs will be hoping to sway Senesi with financial incentives, considering Barcelona’s struggles in that area. The player’s age means he will be seeking his most lucrative deal, and his entourage will likely demand a sizeable wage packet and signing on fee.
Barcelona’s financial struggles have been well documented over the past few years, and Spurs as well as other clubs will be hoping to steal a march on the player. One worry for Tottenham however is the side’s current form, with the club hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone.
Tottenham suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to rivals Arsenal last weekend and now sit just four points out of the relegation places. Injuries to several key players means they have struggled to find their best form, with many concerned about a challenging list of fixtures to close out the campaign.
