Tottenham Hotspur’s situation is becoming increasingly desperate. The club are the only side without a Premier League win this year and now sit just one point above the relegation zone.
After dismissing Thomas Frank, Spurs turned to Igor Tudor in the hope that he could spark a turnaround.
Instead, the Croatian has overseen three straight defeats since taking charge, most recently a 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace. Performances have been unconvincing, and concern is growing within the club’s hierarchy.
With results continuing to deteriorate, Tottenham are already exploring potential alternatives.
Spurs Hold De Zerbi Talks
Tottenham are reportedly considering yet another managerial change after Igor Tudor’s disastrous start in north London.
The interim boss, appointed on February 13 to guide the team through to the end of the season, has so far failed to inspire improvement from a squad heavily affected by injuries. The defeat to Crystal Palace on Thursday has only intensified fears of a genuine relegation battle.
According to The Telegraph, Spurs have already held discussions about the possibility of appointing Roberto De Zerbi if the club manages to avoid the drop. While the focus remains on survival, preparations for a summer appointment are understood to be underway.
Tottenham are currently enduring a miserable run of form, having lost five consecutive matches and going 11 league games without a victory. That slump has forced the club’s leadership to start weighing up long-term solutions.
De Zerbi, who left Marseille by mutual consent in February, is believed to be open to a return to the Premier League. The Italian previously impressed during his time at Brighton & Hove Albion and guided Marseille to a second-place finish in Ligue 1 last season.
However, Tottenham may face competition if they pursue him. De Zerbi has also been linked with Manchester United and is thought to be interested in the possibility of managing at Old Trafford in the future.
For now, Tottenham’s priority is simply staying in the Premier League. But with results continuing to spiral and uncertainty surrounding Tudor’s position, the club appears to be preparing for another managerial shake-up. If Spurs do survive, De Zerbi could emerge as a serious candidate to lead the rebuild in north London.
