Tottenham Suddenly Front Runners For Cahill: £9M Bid Should Seal The Deal

Chelsea and Arsenal both have ruled out a January bid for Bolton Wanderers centre-back Gary Cahill.

The Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas remarked that while he thought the England international was a “fantastic” player, Chelsea wouldn’t be pursuing a deal.

“He’s a fantastic player because he plays for the English national team, a central defender of high qualities,”

“He had a fantastic year last season for club and country – but he is not a player that we are considering.”

Chelsea were thought to be amongst the favourites for Cahill’s signature alongside Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. But Arsene Wenger has also bailed on the Bolton star.

“Cahill is good enough to play Champions League, but he is not someone I would be interested in,”

“I have got five central defenders – Laurent Koscielny, Sebastien Squillaci, Mertesacker, Thomas Vermaelen and Johan Djourou.

“We were in the market in the summer, but at that time they [Bolton Wanderers] were greedy.”

Over to you, Mr Redknapp.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
