According to an update courtesy of Sky Sports transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur have been gifted a huge boost in negotiations for club icon Gareth Bale with the final details now being drawn up – then the ‘deal will be done‘.
Bale, who has been out of favour at the Bernabeu after a public fallout with manager Zinedine Zindane, is on the verge of becoming a Spurs player, with Sky Sports also reporting that the Welshman is simply waiting on the green light to leave Madrid and head to north London.
Will Gareth Bale become Spurs' player of the season?
Yes, 100%, next level
Rumours surrounding Bale’s imminent departure, on a season-long loan according to reports, have been flooding in over the last week, with The Telegraph first claiming that Real would pay 50% of his salary in an attempt to attract suitors.
Now, a deal could be all but done, with Spurs edging closer and closer to sealing a sensational comeback for the club’s fan favourite Welshman along with Sergio Reguilon.
After bursting on to the scene, Bale went on to make 203 appearances for the Lilywhites, scoring 56 goals and assisting 58 more, before departing for Spain (Transfermarkt).
Seven years after signing for the Galacticos in an £85.3m deal, he looks set to return to Spurs in a sensational reunion, with Tottenham supporters now getting justifiably excited.
