Tottenham Hotspur: Charlie Eccleshare reveals ‘dream’ signing for Spurs

Writing for The Athletic, reliable journalist Charlie Eccleshare has revealed that RB Leipzig ace Marcel Sabitzer is a ‘dream‘ signing for Spurs – and whilst a move in January hasn’t been ruled out, Eccleshare claims Tottenham could land him in a cut price deal next summer when he has just one year remaining on his contract.
Sabitzer, who Eccleshare has revealed as a target Daniel Levy and co really like the look of, is currently being heavily linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as an attacking ace who can solve a lot of problems for Jose Mourinho.
Sabitzer move explained
Indeed, despite both Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele shining in the number 10 role this season, bringing in Sabitzer is Tottenham’s ideal move as per The Athletic.
He has even been likened to Bayern Munich legend Bastian Schweinsteiger, and Eccleshare’s claim has now emerged that the versatile ace could move for a cut price fee around £30 million or less given his contract expires in 2022.
Claims that Spurs are huge admirers of the 26-year-old are backed up by another trustworthy source in football.london correspondent Alasdair Gold, with the journalist explaining that ‘those within‘ Spurs ‘really love‘ the playmaker.
Transfer Tavern take
Sabitzer scored twice against Spurs during RB Leipzig’s 3-0 win over the Lilywhites in last season’s Champions League, with Mourinho and co well aware of his ability as they eye a dream move.
An attempt to land him in January isn’t off the cards according to Eccleshare, but with patience, Tottenham could land him for less money after recent claims Leipzig could demand £45 million.
Milan Skriniar was previously touted as Spurs’ number one priority, but this revelation points to another player who Levy has one eye over.
