As per CaughtOffside, there has been some very interesting transfer news out of Tottenham Hotspur involving Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.

The Lowdown: Perisic contract winding down...

As the Croatia footballing legend winds down his contract at the San Siro, with Perisic set to leave as a free agent in 2022 as things stand, it appears Spurs and transfer chief Fabio Paratici are taking note.

The 33-year-old has been sporadically linked with a move to north London over these last few months.

Sport 1 reporter Patrick Berger, for example, claimed back in December that Perisic was even eyeing a possible move to Spurs where he could work under former boss Antonio Conte.

The Latest: Levy makes offer...

Now, as per CaughtOffside, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has personally made the forward a salary offer of £4.6m-per season, which equates to £800,000-per year more than he's earning at Inter.

It is believed that Spurs have made contact over Perisic amid concerns that he is not being valued as highly as he should be in Milan.

The Verdict: Get it done?

His age indicates that Perisic would come only as a quick-fix for Conte, but on a free, he could prove useful.

The former Wolfsburg star can play across the midfield and further forward, possessing an abundance of experience on the biggest stages in world football.

A 111-cap international, Conte has made no secret of his admiration for Perisic in the past, calling him a player with 'incredible potential' last year.

Meanwhile, another renowned Italian football coach in Fabio Capello has called the player 'quality', and we believe potentially having him as an option at least could give Conte a boost for the 2021/2022 campaign.
