According to a report by Club Doria, via Sport Witness, Tottenham Hotspur are one of the Premier League clubs interested in signing Sampdoria talent Mikkel Damsgaard – with this update claiming an offer from Daniel Levy had been expected ‘at any moment‘.
Indeed, as per this claim, Spurs are eyeing Damsgaard for a potential move – with his current Serie A side now given apparent reason to ‘worry’ about their 2020 signing who arrived for just €6 million (£5.2 million) last winter.
Spurs eyeing Damsgaard
The 20-year-old, who has racked up 18 Italian top flight appearances so far this season, becoming a regular in the Sampdoria midfield, is now seemingly attracting eyes from the Premier League as a result.
Tottenham, as well as West Ham who have reportedly ‘held a meeting‘, are one of the clubs touted as potential suitors by this report – and it’s even stated that an offer has been expected for the Dane ‘at any moment‘.
This most recent claim backs up a previous report from La Gazzetta dello Sport at the start of January, which revealed Spurs are keeping an eye on the young attacker with a view to the future.
Transfer Tavern take
FC Nordsjaelland manager Flemming Pedersen (via TUTTOmercatoWEB) likened him to Champions League winner and Danish footballing icon Michael Laudrup last year, claiming he had not seen a countryman with such great potential since the former Barcelona star.
The price tag for Damsgaard, potentially as a result of his good form, has reportedly tripled since Sampdoria landed him – with Calciomercato recently claiming it has soared to around €20 million (£17.65m).
Whether or not the Lilywhites do lodge an offer remains to be seen, but he certainly seems to be attracting interest.
