Tottenham Hotspur: Danny Rose nears Serie A move after ‘advanced talks’ with Genoa

According to an exclusive report from the Daily Mirror, Danny Rose is edging closer to securing a move to Genoa after the club held advanced talks – with Spurs open to offloading the Englishman either on loan or permanently.

Mirror journalist John Cross claims that Rose has not been given a squad number for Tottenham this season and has been told to get searching for a new club – especially after the Lilywhites secured deals to sign Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale.

Valued at £14.4 million by Transfermarkt, Rose could be offloaded to balance the books after a week of heavy spending on chairman Daniel Levy’s part – with Reguilon arriving for around £27.2 million while Bale’s transfer fees could cost just under £20 million in total with the loan cost and salary combined (The Daily Express).

Genoa, who are keen to bring in a left-back with international calibre like Rose, have been in advanced negotiations with Spurs over his signature according to the Mirror – and they look ‘set’ to get a deal over the line this summer.

A 29-cap England star, Rose was tipped by pundit Danny Mills to be ‘inundated with offers’ should the Lilywhites opt to sell, but it remains to be seen whether his prediction of selling him on the cheap will come to fruition (Football Insider).

Eager to get the 30-year-old off his books, Levy has already signed a replacement in Reguilon, and with Euro 2021 coming up at the end of this season, a move away could be what is best for both parties.
