Tottenham Hotspur: Darren Bent claims Jose Mourinho is ‘looking around’ for a new Spurs signing - Tottenham Hotspur Transfer Rumours

Speaking to Football Insider, Darren Bent has dropped a promising Tottenham transfer hint – claiming that manager Jose Mourinho is still ‘looking around’ for a potential seventh Spurs signing.

After a summer of marquee deals, which saw the club land six new faces in total, Bent has now hinted that there may well be more – with Spurs now in talks to sign Swansea City defender Joe Rodon.

Will Spurs land a seventh signing before October 16?

Spurs not finished yet

Rodon, who would be a ‘very shrewd signing‘ according to Bent, is tipped as one to watch as Mourinho reportedly plots to bring in another addition.

Even though Bent feels that the Lilywhites boss likes his squad, he also claims that he is ‘looking around’ for any potential new additions, and he believes that Rodon’s signing would be a good bit of business.

“Listen, he’s looking around,” explained the ex-Spur. “For me, he [Rodon] would be a very shrewd signing if they were to go and get him.

“But at the same time, if they don’t get him I think they’ll be very happy with what they’ve done in the transfer market.”

According to a recent report by Football Insider, Spurs have submitted a £13 million bid to the Swans for Rodon’s signature, coming after Sky Sports claimed that a deal was close on deadline day.

However, as explained by the outlet, Swansea feel his valuation his somewhere upwards of £15 million – with negotiations well and truly underway over a potential further addition.

Transfer Tavern take

Tottenham have already signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon, Carlos Vinicius and club icon Gareth Bale on loan in what has been a summer to remember.

The EFL bonus window is still open, though, and landing Rodon could be a great capture as Spurs couldn’t get a new defender over the line last Monday.

Whether or not Daniel Levy completes another deal remains to be seen, but he could be another stellar addition as Tottenham keep being tipped to challenge for a Premier League crown.
