According to journalist Ekrem Konur, writing on Twitter, Dele Alli has sent a message to Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham Hotspur talks with Paris-Saint Germain reach the ‘final stage‘ – with the Englishman allegedly telling him to complete the transfer ‘as soon as possible‘.
Alli has been heavily linked with a move to PSG throughout this transfer window, with reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano also claiming that the deal is ‘almost ready’ (CaughtOffside).
The 24-year-old is reportedly very eager to link up with Pochettino in the French capital, coming after Spurs boss Jose Mourinho reduced his playing time significantly over the first half of this campaign.
Alli sends message
Via WhoScored, Alli has played just 75 minutes of Premier League action this season – and with the postponed Euro 2020 looming, time is running out for him to work his way back into Gareth Southgate’s plans.
In this development, journalist Konur reveals that Alli has sent a message to Pochettino, instructing the Argentine to complete his move away ‘as soon as possible’.
“Dele Alli, he spoke to Pochettino,” explained Konur, sharing the attacker’s message below (via Twitter).
“Complete my transfer as soon as possible. I want to play for PSG for the rest of the season.”
Transfer Tavern take
Following this alleged contact with Pochettino, Konur also reports that talks are now in the ‘final stage’ – but if a deal is not reached in January, it will be ‘discussed’ again at the end of the season.
Chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly a ‘major stumbling block’ to Alli’s exit (ESPN), but only time will tell whether it does happen and the former MK Dons starlet can move on to pastures new.
