According to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan appear to be at an impasse over agreeing a loan deal for Christian Eriksen – with the transfer guru dropping a message in this potentially major update on the saga.
Reports emerged recently detailing Spurs’ interest in taking their former star back on loan this month, with other sources like Gianluca Di Marzio (via sempreinter.com) claiming the Lilywhites are ‘keen‘ to make it happen.
Should Spurs re-sign Eriksen and pay 100% of his salary?
Yes, worth every penny
Romano has been offering updates of his own sporadically throughout the window, but his recent claim may prove to be a major one as Jose Mourinho reportedly plots a reunion for the Dane.
Romano offers major Eriksen update
Writing on Twitter, the Italian reporter offered a bleak view on negotiations for Eriksen – detailing how both the Nerazzurri and Spurs are currently at an impasse in regards to agreeing a deal.
Dropping his message that there is ‘no chance at the moment‘, it appears Daniel Levy and co have been dealt a potentially big blow in pursuit of the 28-year-old playmaker.
Transfer Tavern take
It is believed that Eriksen’s wages will be around €4 million (£3.5m) after tax over the next six months – resulting in them taking a firm stance and declaring any suitor must pay all of it.
In this major development, Spurs’ likelihood of re-signing their ex-star may have taken a hit – but only time will tell whether Levy decides to pay 100% of the attacker’s bumper take home.
In other news: Tottenham are apparently ‘queuing’ to sign this £100,000-per-week ace, find out more here.
