Speaking to talkSPORT, ex-Premier League forward Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Dele Alli to seek a potential Spurs swap negotiation with Real Madrid involving superstar Gareth Bale coming the other way – and the Englishman went on to hint that a move to the Bernabeu could be best for him.
Agbonlahor, who stuck up for Alli on the radio show following his half time substitution in the 1-0 loss to Everton, has now urged the player to seek a move to Madrid with Bale coming back to north London.
Should Spurs swap Dele Alli for Gareth Bale?
Yes, get it done Levy
Reports linking the Welshman with a sensational return have heightened up dramatically over the last day, with the BBC reporting that Spurs are indeed in talks to sign Bale on a potential season-long loan deal.
This comes after numerous positive updates concerning the financial difficulties of a swoop for Bale, especially the Telegraph’s report last week that Real would pay 50% of the player’s £600,000-per-week wages.
Afterwards, Mundo Deportivo claimed that Bale could leave the Bernabeu for as little as £18.3 million, further heightening excitement surrounding a potential move for the Welshman.
In recent hours, talks to sign Bale have commenced, with Spurs closing in on a deal according reports.
Now, speaking to talkSPORT, Agbonlahor has backed Alli to seek a move in the opposite direction to La Liga with Bale coming to play under Mourinho after a supposed ‘fall-out’. Indeed, the Telegraph have reported that the ex-MK Dons man could be part of the deal.
Indeed, the pundit claimed it is a ‘no brainer’ for the £100,000-per-week ace after the Telegraph’s report that Spurs are considering that swap possibility.
“I feel with Dele Alli, something has happened there between there between them,” explained Agbonlahor to talkSPORT.
“From what I heard he wasn’t even meant to start the Everton game. Steven Bergwijn had a migraine during the warm up or before the game and that’s why Alli started.
“For him to drag him at half-time for me was a bit of an insult as I feel like he could have dragged Harry Kane or other players before him.
“There’s something else going on there and I feel like if Dele Alli can try and get out to Real Madrid on a swap deal is a no brainer. He’d do better at Real Madrid than he would do at Spurs.”
Whether or not the club try and offload Alli for Bale remains to be seen, but it could be an interesting development.
