Speaking in a press conference before his side take on Liverpool this evening in the Premier League (via football.london), Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has refused to rule out transfers incomings and outgoings this month despite him admitting they would be a ‘huge surprise’ – going on to drop the three-word hint ‘anything can happen‘.
Indeed, the Lilywhites boss has been candid over Daniel Levy and his potential dealings this month, with Mourinho admitting he is ‘convinced‘ nothing will happen, but he also refuses to rule it out entirely as he takes into account the dramatic nature of the transfer window.
Jose Mourinho refuses to rule incomings and outgoings
Tottenham have been linked with an array of players since the January opening, including the likes of Christian Eriksen (Fabrizio Romano) and Nikola Maksimovic (Nicolo Schira). Most recently however, the obvious story is centred around a potential departure for Spurs ace Dele Alli (Le Parisien).
While the Spurs boss is in belief Alli will remain at Tottenham and won’t facilitate a move to Paris-Saint Germain in time, he also refused to rule his exit out as well – going on to say that the window is ‘open still‘ and ‘sometimes unexpected things can happen‘.

Despite claiming he is ‘convinced’ nothing will happen, Mourinho refused to confirm that there wouldn’t be a ‘huge surprise‘ in store, as he puts it.
Even though the Portuguese seems adamant, the fact he is still fairly open to something potentially happening in the final days of the window holds a slight glimmer of hope for supporters wishing for some last-minute drama.
Whether or not unexpected incomings or outgoings happen between now and the February 1 deadline remains to be seen, but the manager is clearly keeping his options open.
