Tottenham Hotspur: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg prefers move to Spurs over Everton

Tottenham Hotspur have edged in front of Everton in the race to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton this summer.
Hojbjerg has made it clear to Everton he wants to join Tottenham instead, although recent reports have suggested that Southampton have accepted an offer from the Blues for the midfielder.
According to The Liverpool Echo, as relayed by Ricky Sacks, Everton have not launched a bid and despite their best efforts to persuade him otherwise, he has his heart set on a move to north London in the summer.
Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti is a keen admirer of the ex-Bayern Munich ace but Hojbjerg has told the Toffees twice that he prefers a move to Spurs as he wants to play under Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho has identified the Dane as the signing he needs to rebuild Tottenham’s midfield ahead of the 2020/21 Premier League season.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Hojbjerg, 24, has played 33 games in the Premier League this season, supplying one assist, taking 1.4 shots, winning 2.4 tackles and completing 1.5 clearances per game on average (via WhoScored).
However, Everton have not ended their pursuit and remain locked in discussions with the Saints over a possible transfer, with swap-deals forming part of the negotiations.
The Toffees insist they have not submitted a £25m bid for the former Southampton captain. This comes in the same week The Telegraph dismissed any speculation linking him to Arsenal.
While Spurs seem to be in the driving seat at the moment, there is still so much at stake, and Daniel Levy will have to tread very carefully if he is to pull off the deal in the summer.
Levy still has an ace up his sleeve as he could use Kyle Walker-Peters to sweeten the deal. Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has been impressed by his recent performances and has hinted he would like to keep Walker-Peters at St Mary’s for the foreseeable future following his loan spell.
