Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs ‘willing’ to spend £14.5m on Real Madrid ace Lucas Vazquez

Tottenham Hotspur are keen to sign Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez this summer, reports say.
Vazquez, who has fallen out of favour with Zinedine Zidane this season, has been widely tipped to make a move to Tottenham this summer.
Jose Mourinho is ready to raid his old club to upgrade his wide options ahead of the 2020/21 Premier League season.
According to Defensa Central, as cited by The Daily Express, Spurs are ‘willing’ to spend £14.5m on the Spaniard in the summer.
The Spanish publication claims Zidane has told Vazquez he is below Marco Asensio and Rodrygo in the pecking order as he can’t be trusted anymore.
Vazquez, 29, has struggled for consistency this season, as competition for places and injury problems have scuppered his playing time.
Mourinho has worked together with the former Spanish international in the past, as he was a reserve player during the Portuguese’s time in charge of the Bernabeu.
Who should Spurs sign from Real Madrid?
Lucas Vazquez
Luka Modric
Gareth Bale
While there is no denying the fact he has suffered from an injury-ravaged season, he is still a world-class player, as his track record more than speaks for itself.
Indeed, Vazquez has still won the Champions League three times and lifted the La Liga trophy twice, despite the multiple setbacks. Real were crowned champions by beating Villarreal 2-1 last week, with Karim Benzema scoring a brace.
Mourinho wanted the midfielder while he was at Manchester United and he doesn’t seem to have changed his mind.
Currently, Tottenham do not have the depth to challenge for trophies anytime soon, as Mourinho has bemoaned the lack of creativity in the midfield, and Vazquez could provide injury cover for the likes of Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn.
The versatile playmaker has entered the final 12 months of his contract, which is something Daniel Levy could look to exploit, as Real are ready to offload him as soon as possible.
