According to Sport (via The Daily Express), Tottenham are interested in signing former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey from Juventus this summer.

The Lowdown: Spurs prepare for new campaign

Nuno Espirito Santo's plans for the new season are well underway as he aims to take Spurs higher up the table than their seventh-place finish last time out.

With only goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini coming in on loan from Atalanta (tottenhamhotspur.com), there is plenty of work for Spurs still to do in the transfer window.

The Latest: Spurs eye Ramsey

As per this latest report, Spurs are interested in Ramsey, who of course used to star for Arsenal, possibly creating quite the buzz of controversy in north London if this deal goes through.

Alongside Spurs, Wolves are also said to be in pursuit.

The report claims the Wales star is edging closer to leaving Turin, and although negotiations with both English clubs are "well advanced", Juventus will need to sign a replacement before they allow Ramsey to leave.

The Verdict: Plenty to offer

While this would be a controversial move considering Ramsey's previous allegiances, the 30-year-old still has plenty to offer. He shone at Euro 2020, scoring in Wales' clash with Turkey as his side reached the round of 16, while he has also made 65 appearances in two campaigns in Italy (Transfermarkt).

He was even called "world-class" by Joe Allen during the European Championships this summer (sportsmole.co.uk).

With reported wages of £187,000 a week (salarysport.com), Ramsey would not come cheap, but he clearly has lots of talent, as well as plenty of experience both in the Premier League and beyond. Spurs could do a lot worse than Ramsey - it remains to be seen whether they can capture his services.
