Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern will hope this is their last resort as the Daily Mail revealed that Spurs are set to fund Emmanuel Adebayor’s £100,000-a-week contract in order to offload the unwanted striker.
Spurs are preparing for a busy summer but they will have to pave the way for their new arrivals as Mauricio Pochettino is looking to turn the squad upside down.
The Togo international is unwanted at White Hart Lane especially since Harry Kane has hit this purple patch of form.
Due to the 31-year-old having a huge contract, Pochettino is keen to get him off the wage bill.
But this is much easier said than done because Adebayor refuses to accept anything less than his current £5.2million salary before accepting a move.
And this has forced the club to agree to help fund his exit from the club, despite the fact he has only made nine league starts this season.
