When Leicester City won the Premier League in the 2015/16 season their crop of unlikely title winners went down in history. One or two will become tough quiz answers in years to come, but the ones that simply will never be forgotten are the likes of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez, and when the latter was sold two years later the Foxes were devastated.
#lcfc can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Manchester City for the transfer of @Mahrez22.

Mahrez has done some magnificent things in his career. The winger became the first African player to win the PFA Player of the Season award, although Mo Salah has now joined him on that list, and he holds the record as the most expensive ever African footballer. However, the individual awards and accolades are now what he’ll go down for, it will be that famous Premier League win.
In that season the Algerian produced magic in front of the Foxe’s eyes. His tally of 17 goals and ten assists were crucial to Claudio Ranieri’s side winning the title that season and if he hadn’t been at the club then there’s no way that the minnows would have pulled off the 5000/1 upset. However, every fairytale has an ending and for Mahrez that came last summer, to the dismay of the fans who will always hail the Algerian a hero.

Well I’m pleased it’s done but I will miss him, he’s had his annoying moments but at times he is just brilliant and has given me some fantastic memories! Good luck to you Mahrez

Probably our best ever player, even with some of the sulks.
I, for one, won't ever forget the magical moments Riyad gave us.

Legend. Greatest Leicester player ever. Was an honour to watch Mahrez wear the badge for as long as he did. All the best, Riyad

The Foxes were gutted to see their star man leave, but they’ll never forget the dream that he helped become a reality.
