After failing to land the much-coveted fourth place and Champions League football this summer Mirror Football today reports that manager Andre Villas-Boas is preparing a ruthless clear out as he looks to rebuild his Lilywhites side for the new season.
Players who the Mirror report are set to be offloaded include big names such as Emmanuel Adebayor, Clint Dempsey and Scott Parker as they clear the decks to improve the support for the brilliant Gareth Bale as they attempt to break into the top four.
Adebayor has endured a very disappointing campaign at White Hart Lane after making his loan switch from Manchester City permanent with only five Premier League goals to his name while another summer signing Dempsey could be set on his way despite scoring seven times after arriving from Fulham. England international Scott Parker has struggled after taking Sandro’s place in the side and Spurs believe they can find better value than the 32-year-old.
Villas-Boas is lining up a move for a few strikers this summer and Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke remains high on their transfer wishlist but a possible swoop for Barcelona’s David Villas is not out of the question either.
