Liverpool currently find themselves sitting in second position on goal difference with a game in hand, while Manchester City occupy first place after an inspired run of form.
The Reds will be desperate to make the most of their game in hand against Manchester United, with the opportunity to swing the title race back in their favour. Meanwhile, the Citizens will have their sights set on building even more momentum having gone unbeaten in their last three Premier League fixtures.
Of course, with Liverpool and Manchester City battling for the Premier League title at this moment in time, we took a look at the influence that Sadio Mane and Raheem Sterling have had in the current campaign.
With that in mind, let’s compare these two transfers…
RAHEEM STERLING
Liverpool handed Raheem Sterling to Manchester City back in the summer of 2015 in a deal worth £49 million.
The winger has come on leaps and bounds since joining the Citizens, especially in the current campaign, as he currently has 12 goals and 11 assists to his name in the Premier League.
Indeed, the Englishman has developed into arguably one of the best attackers in world football and has already played a monumental part in City’s title push this season, with plenty more contributions to come.

SADIO MANE
Liverpool signed Sadio Mane from Southampton for £34 million back in the summer of 2016, and it’s safe to say that he’s proved to be one of their best signings in recent years.
The Senegalese international has been very impressive in the current campaign, with 12 goals and one assist to his name in the Premier League, but he hasn’t always been at his dominant best.
He will play a massive part in the Reds’ title push from here on in as a member of Jurgen Klopp’s dangerous front three, but there’s definitely room for him to go up another gear.

TT VERDICT:
When comparing these two, it’s safe to say that Raheem Sterling is currently edging things as he’s been simply sensational in the current campaign, with the same amount of goals but plenty more assists than Sadio Mane.
Indeed, it was a mistake for the Reds to sell Sterling to Manchester City as it’s slowly coming back to bite them as the Englishman continues to boost City’s title push, having produced two goals and two assists in his last three Premier League appearances. So, with the Merseyside club still having it all to do in the current campaign, it looks as if Sterling could ruin Klopp’s dream of securing an elusive trophy if he continues to produce at the Etihad.
