Our resident punters enjoying a beer and burger here in the Transfer Tavern have been notified of the news that former Sunderland winger Adam Johnson has been jailed for six years, for grooming and sexual activity with a girl aged 15.
A large group of Sunderland fans over by the jukebox here in the Tavern admit they are disappointed in the former England international, with them all agreeing he has well and truly screwed up his career.
The news of this sentence has spread across social media, with the topic trending in the UK all day, and it seems that the news has made a fair few people pretty irate to say the least!
