Many Southampton fans have given love on Twitter to Sofiane Boufal after he gave an interview at the club thanking fans for sticking by him.
The Southampton winger has been linked with a move away from the club for much of the summer – most recently linked with a move to Nice on August 22 (Sport Witness) – however, the Morocco international has featured in the Saints’ last two games.
Following the club’s win versus Fulham on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup Boufal noted the “really good relationship” he has always had with the Southampton fans.
He went on to thank the fans for sticking by him before confirming that he has asked to stay at the club to “achieve very good things”.
Boufal came on for the club in the league versus Brighton on Saturday and helped assist a goal for Nathan Redmond in the 10 minutes he had on the field. That was then followed by a full match for the club on Tuesday, suggesting that there is still space in the squad for the winger.
At only 25 years of age, the player who went out on loan last year at Celta Vigo still has time to prove his worth at St. Mary’s and now seems desperate to do just that.
Many Saints fans were overjoyed by his attitude and appreciated the thanks that he sent them.

No boufal no party! Great to hear….but the body language suggests he might not be comfortable with the message…..maybe he just needs a chance?
