Manchester United fans are fearing the worst in the Football Transfer Tavern after Metro revealed that the hierarchy at Old Trafford are getting increasingly worried about Real Madrid’s interest in David De Gea.
It has become apparent that the Red Devils are concerned that the interest from Los Blancos is the reason why the 24-year-old’s contract talks have stalled.
The Spanish giants have stepped up their pursuit in recent months as they are scouring the market in search for a successor to club legend, Iker Casillas.
This then led to a reaction from United as they tried penning their Spanish keeper down on a new deal before the January transfer window opened to end any future speculation.
But now that the talks have stalled it is reported that the club will now be looking to Victor Valdez as their first choice keeper.
Because initially Louis van Gaal was hoping he would have both De Gea and Valdez at his disposal with the former Barcelona keeper being the second choice keeper.
