Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern are checking their phones every few minutes and asking our landlord for any nuggets of information on a regular basis as their club’s managerial situation rumbles on.
The Gers are currently under the stewardship of caretaker gaffer Graeme Murty after Mark Warburton’s exit last month, and while the Express have linked a number of relatively high-profile names such as Derek McInnes, Alex McLeish, Garry Monk and Gary Rowett to the job, the Daily Record’s latest revelation that Pedro Caixinha has been in talks with the club for around a week is serious news.
The Portuguese boss is currently in charge of Qatari club Al-Gharafa and is alleged to have made a positive impression on Rangers chiefs when they spoke to him
However, not many Ibrox fans are excited about the 46-year-old taking charge of their club, and our landlord has been scouring Twitter for some of the best takes on the news…
So the board have spoken to Pedro Caixinha, Gary Rowett and Eck. I think it’ll be Pedro but my mind wants Rowett because I know more of him.
