Celtic have swept all before them in Scotland for the previous two seasons, and have won seven successive titles in a row.
Brendan Rodgers can afford to be very pleased with how things are going domestically. He has built a squad who have proven they are far superior to anything Scotland has to offer. Rodgers has utilised the loan market well, along with permanent transfers. Players like Odsonne Edouard and Olivier Ntcham have been certified hits at Celtic Park, backed up by talents synonymous with the club like energetic captain Scott Brown.
The Northern Irish manager will have his eyes on a better performance in Europe. The Hoops unceremoniously crashed out of both the Champions League and Europa League last season. Doing better in Europe is the next stage for a club which has been on the up for the last few seasons.
Brendan Rodgers needs to set his eye on progression at Celtic Park despite his ongoing success as boss of the Hoops. Better quality must be continuously brought in, and players not up to scratch must leave the club.

Ryan Christie does not look like he has a future at Celtic Park.
The player has had two successive loan spells to Aberdeen. Christie is still just 23, but with the level of midfielder at Celtic, he is just not going to get a look-in. With players like James Forrest at the club, Christie will only ever be a squad player at Celtic Park.
The player is valued at £700,000 by Transfermarkt. Brendan Rodgers should look to sell the player, perhaps to Aberdeen, where Christie has had two good loan spells.
Jonny Hayes is technically gifted but not the kind of player who is going to take the Hoops to the next level.
After years of really impressing at Aberdeen, Hayes finally made the switch to the Scottish giants. However, now 31-years-old, what future Hayes has at the club is questionable. Brendan Rodgers should sell the player now whilst he still has some value.
Players such as Scott Sinclair, Lewis Morgan and James Forrest add much more to the side than Hayes.
