There’s a new name doing the rounds here in the Transfer Tavern and it’s Kylian Mbappe – the exciting young forward from Ligue 1 side Monaco.
We love to see new players burst onto the stage here by the bar and you have to say there really is a keen sense of anticipation around the youngster at the moment.
He’s really come on leaps and bounds this season with the side from the principality firing on all cylinders in the French top flight and in with a chance of knocking Manchester City out of Europe.
His form, naturally, has led him to be linked with a move away, though, with Bleacher Report claiming Arsenal are one of the sides in the race to secure his signature.

Hat-trick hero
He may be young but he certainly knows where the goal is.
This hat-trick in a 5-0 thrashing of Metz by Monaco earlier on in the season shows you all you need to know about his ability in front of goal. Aside from that, though, it also shows just how composed he is out on the pitch and confident and Arsenal could certainly do with someone like that right now.
Shades of Thierry Henry
He’s been compared to a young Thierry Henry and in this clip you can see why.
This isn’t the most spectacular goal in the world but when you look at it it really does smack of the unerring calmness in front of goal that the great Frenchman had. Arsenal need players like that back in their side and Mbappe is surely only going to get any better.
Champions League class
This probably has to be the clincher as to why Arsenal should sign Mbappe up.
He’s got confidence and class and has those attributes on whatever stage he turns up on. The Champions League has proven a real stumbling block for Arsenal and their players mentally with this season no different and what they need is some fearlessness. Mbappe has that in abundance, as this performance against Man City suggests.
