The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern are incensed that Graeme Murty is still in charge at Ibrox. The club tweeted that this week’s Rangers Podcast features an exclusive sit-down with the head of the club’s academy Craig Mulholland, although the fans have made it clear that they expect a tweet confirming the club’s new gaffer very soon.

On Sunday, Rangers were thoroughly embarrassed by their noisy neighbours, Celtic in the latest Old Firm clash of the season. The side’s met at Hampden Park for the Scottish Cup semi-final with the winner being guaranteed a place in the final of the competition against Motherwell, who beat Aberdeen 3-0 the day before. It was a day to forget for Graeme Murty’s side though as they were thrashed 4-0, conceding two goals either side of half-time in one of the club’s worst performances of recent memory.
The loss to Celtic has handed Brendan Rodgers’ side the initiative as they look to secure back-to-back trebles for the first time in Scottish history. Rodgers’ has been a rip-roaring success since his appointment at Parkhead, winning every domestic honour available to him so far. The Gers propping our bar up will be hoping they can appoint a manager of similar pedigree as they look to rival the Bhoys in Green for the first time since the 2011/12 season, where they were relegated after entering liquidation.
