Welcome Sanchez: Chelsea’s amazing frontline including Chile star if he joins this month

Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are getting excited over the prospect of how the Blues will line up if Alexis Sanchez decides to join them this winter window.

If Chelsea’s late bid for the Arsenal man is successful, Antonio Conte could be blessed with a very dangerous forward line in the second half of the season as they bid to keep fighting on all four fronts. Indeed, our local Blues in the bar have been discussing how Sanchez could fit into the current team setup.

However, with the Chilean potentially coming in, it’s bound to upset some of the current first team as they drop down the pecking order, although Conte will be hoping that a new face in can have a positive effect to get the Chelsea players fired up to match his touchline personality.

Our landlord has drawn up a quick team sheet at the end of the bar to show how the Blues could look come 1st February…

LAM: Eden Hazard

The Belgian has been one of the star Chelsea’s players over the years and with the potential incoming of Sanchez, Conte would be hoping that it sparks a new lease of life into Hazard. Playing on the left of a very attack-minded three, Hazard will aim to drift in and out of position and create the space for his fellow teammates to take advantage of.

If Chelsea are to win any kind of silverware this season, the Blues have to have the winger on top form.

CAM: Cesc Fabregas

The assist king will look to provide the striker with the balls and chances needed to convert into goals. The Spaniard brings a calmness to the team and many of our regulars in the pub love to watch the way the former Arsenal man exploits the space and can pick out any pass, however slight the chances are of completing it.

Fabregas will be looking to use his Arsenal and Barcelona backgrounds to find a link with Sanchez and create some on the pitch chemistry.

RAM: Alexis Sanchez

The main man himself, Sanchez would look to play out on the right wing as Hazard will balance it out by playing on the left, but you’d imagine Conte would have the pair interchanging throughout the match to cause numerous headaches for the opposition.

Our bar staff think that with the Chilean in the team, Chelsea not only have the striker Morata as a dangerous figurehead, the team could score a goal from any one of the four attacking positions.

CF: Alvaro Morata

The Spanish striker is in desperate need of a backup but with Sanchez behind him, it would help share the burden of goals needed at the club. Sanchez could potentially play up front in place of Morata as Conte looks to try and rest him.

However, the most likely thing to happen according to the landlord is that Sanchez would play on the right-hand side of the three, while Morata spearheads the attack.
