The Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern were given a shock to the system yesterday.
Indeed, while our resident Gers have been seriously annoyed about the club’s difficulty in replacing Pedro Caixinha, Tony Pulis’ sacking at West Bromwich Albion meant another interesting option opened up. Though the Welshman proved a divisive figure amongst the Baggies in our bar, he’d certainly be a big name coup for the Light Blues right now.
With so many names touted as potential targets for Rangers ever since Caixinha’s sacking, Pulis would be an interesting option. You know what you’re getting with him, though his last few months at the Hawthorns suggested his powers were on the wane and the expectation level at Ibrox truly is massive, unlike anything he’s had before.
The likes of Gus Poyet and Steve McClaren have also been touted as potential candidates in the past, with one Twitter user even suggesting former Spurs boss Juande Ramos as a bizarre option.
Having said all that, here’s a look at how Rangers fans reacted on Twitter to the notion of Pulis arriving in Glasgow.

Imagine if Rangers are really serious about naming Tony Pulis as the next manager of the football club….. I really hope this does not happen!!! https://t.co/2pKwDBI2Or
